Last year, Met Office data named Thanet seaside towns Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate the sunniest coastal destinations in the UK. Weather experts pored over ten years of data to calculate the results and found that Thanet notched up an annual average of more than 720 hours of sunshine.

The Isle is also home to five award-winning Blue Flag international beaches, Minnis Bay, West Bay, St Mildred's Bay, Margate Main Sands, and Stone Bay. The Kent Heritage coast was also ranked in the top ten in the world for Thanet's 'best in travel' guide for 2022, while National Geographic named Kent was named as the fourth best place to visit in the world by National Geographic.
