Heatwaves, Film stars and Forbes: The latest reasons why Thanet has hit the headlines

Thanet towns Ramsgate, Broadstairs, and Margate, have enjoyed a fantastic summer, with glorious sunshine on the coast attracting mass media attention and famous guests.

During the national heatwave recently, Thanet became a hotbed for those looking to make the most of the weather and enjoy the heat, with beaches across the county filled with visitors and locals alike.

Floods of beachgoers enjoyed the stunning Margate Main Sands, Broadstairs Viking Bay and Ramsgate Main Sands, all Blue Flag international beaches awarded for their cleanliness and environmentally friendly spaces.

During this time, famous faces were also seen spending time in Thanet. Famous UK popstar Lily Allen was seen filming an upcoming comedy-drama with Sky across Thanet town Margate, supported by the Stranger Things star and husband David Harbour, who also enjoyed the Thanet sunshine.

Meanwhile, Thanet town Ramsgate caught the attention of renowned media publication Forbes, referring to Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate as ‘the English Riviera’.

The article also praised Ramsgate for its sandy beaches, quaint historic harbours and cafés, bars and restaurants. The article also highlights the best places for visitors to stay, eat, drink and shop.

Blueberry Homes has a project set to begin in Margate very soon called Gallery Walk, consisting of brand-new luxury apartments located in Margate's burgeoning art district, neighbouring Tracy Emin's brand new art school.

Gallery Walk-Margate will also be a short walk away from the vibrant Old Town of Margate, Turner Contemporary art gallery, the revitalised Dreamland vintage theme park, and iconic Margate Main Sands beach.

Final phase luxury apartments at our £60 million Blueberry Homes Royal Sands Ramsgate seafront development are also still available to reserve, where residents can enjoy coastal living and café culture in the sunshine coastal capital of the UK.
